🎤 Speaker Announcement: Miguel Alamassy, P.EnG

We’re pleased to introduce one of our featured speakers for the WCOWMA-BC Trade Show & Convention taking place from February 26-28, 2026 in Nanaimo, BC.

Miguel Almassy is a Biotechnology Engineer who graduated with a focus on wastewater treatment. He has been with DBO Expert for 7 years, which specializes in on-site wastewater treatment, where he currently serves as the Technical Director. Beyond his role in regulatory compliance, Miguel deeply contributes to research and development, ensuring DBO Expert’s solution, System O)), is appropriately adapted to meet on-site wastewater treatment standards across Canada. Miguel actively participates in different technical committees, including the CAN/BNQ 3680-600 Standard and the Ontario Building Code.

Combined Treatment and Dispersal Systems (CTDS) are rising in popularity across Canada due to their simplicity and effective performance. This presentation will define CTDS and explain their fundamental operating principles and treatment mechanisms. We will analyze their advantages and limitations, examine the possible CTDS variations, and discuss their appropriate applications within the Standard Practice Manual  (SPM) framework, along with design and installation best practices.
