On June 25, 2010, changes to the Sewerage System Regulation were legislated through an order in Council. The revised SSR is available by following this link:

http://www.bclaws.ca/default.html. Once you have arrived at the webpage, select Laws, then select the letter \”P\” from the alphabet selection. Now scroll down to \”Public Health\” and then look for the link entitled \”326/2004 Sewerage System Regulation\”.

As well, the Ministry of Healthy Living and Sport has issued a statement clarifying the key changes in the SSR, which is available on their website at http://www.health.gov.bc.ca/protect/pdf/Sewerage-System-Regulation-Amendments-OIC476.pdf.

Registered Onsite Wastewater Practitioners should familiarize themselves with these changes as they have come into effect and will have an impact on planning and installation for the 2010 season.
