Keynote Speaker Announced for Convention

Don\’t forget: the 2013 Convention and Trade Show is being held in Abbotsford, BC on February 8 and 9. The Convention is approaching quickly, but there\’s still time to sign up with the earli-bird discount!

February 9th will focus on education and WCOWMA-BC is pleased to welcome Cate Soroczan from the Canadian Housing and Mortgage Corporation as keynote speaker.  Cate will provide information on the CMHC’s current research, which addresses management mechanisms and protocols for onsite wastewater systems.

The day continues with presentations on the new Engineer’s Guideline, changes to the Sub-division Regulation, best practices for system installation, an overview of a self-sustaining community on Vancouver Island, greywater reuse, and other topics of interest to the onsite wastewater community.

Training

WCOWMA-BC provides excellent training opportunities for those working in the onsite wastewater industry, whether already engaged in the industry or planning to enter it. The Onsite Wastewater Practitioner Training Program provides a solid base for those wishing to work as Planners and/or Installers.

This program is recognized in the Western Provinces through the New West Partnership (formerly TILMA) and federally through the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA).

Additional field and classroom training sessions are available for continuing education purposes. For information on upcoming training opportunities, contact the WCOWMA-BC office.
