Septic Awareness Week Wrap-Up

WCOWMA in partnership with the Ontario Onsite Wastewater Association (OOWA) hosted its annual Septic Awareness Week from September 16 – September 20.

In addition to a social media campaign and newsletters about proper operation and maintenance of onsite wastewater treatment systems, each provincial chapter of WCOWMA provided webinars for homeowners throughout the week. Two Septic Sense webinars were hosted by WCOWMA-BC, two were hosted by AOWMA, one by SOWMA and one by MOWMA. A total of 231 homeowners registered for the various webinars.

Training

The WCOWMA Onsite Wastewater Management of BC (WCOWMA-BC) provides excellent industry training programs for Onsite Wastewater Practitioners and Professionals. The Onsite Wastewater Practitioner Training Program for industry certification is recognized in the Western Provinces through Alberta Municipal Affairs, the New West Partnership Agreement (formerly TILMA) and federally through the Agreement on Internal Trade.

As well as this industry certification program, the WCOWMA-BC offers individual field and classroom training sessions for continuing education purposes. For information on training opportunities in your area, contact the WCOWMA-BC office.
