WCOWMA-BC held two soils days during the month of September. The first event on September 7 was up north of Fort St John in Doig River. Member Bruce McColm provided the site that allowed a small group of students to save significant travel time and cost to participate in this field training.
Later in the month, on September 27, another opportunity to learn how to assess soils was held in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island. Member Julian Wright provided this site. After a full night and morning of rain, the weather dried up and participants were able to get their hands dirty!

These practical training days are a great opportunity to get hands-on experience evaluating a site, as well as practicing hand texturing and sampling.
Stay tuned for more dates!
