WCOWMA-BC is looking for administrative support for the day-to-day activities of the association. This would be a half-time, contracted position with the potential for full time in the future. Recognizing the difficulty aspiring ROWPs have getting mentors in their local communities, the Association set aside a bursary in 2022 to help with travel costs should a member need to travel to access mentorship. This bursary would help to offset some of the travel and accommodation costs incurred in order to work under a mentor.

It was exciting to see that WCOMWA-BC members Craig Sapriken and James Stiksma were featured in this month’s edition of the Onsite Installer. Periodically Betty Dageford from Onsite Installer reaches out to get a list of people to profile from Western Canada. It is really gratifying to see the contributions from our members profiled.

Poop and the question of what to do with it seems to be a singularly contentious issue for the CRD and one that has been floating around, in one form or another, for years. The Canadian Press covers the story here.

The WCOWMA-BC Board of Directors met in Kelowna to review 2023 and make plans for 2024. Agenda items included convention, training, bylaw review, and ongoing outreach.
